Taxi service is readily available at the airport. Or, if you provide us with your flight information ahead of time we can arrange transportation for you (you will need to pay the driver). The driver will be outside the airport holding a sign reading Villa Bahia/Villa Encantada. Do we need to rent a car? It is not really necessary. Taxis are plentiful and reliable for longer distances and the city has bus service and water taxis as well. What is the address and phone number for the villas? Does your rental rate include service staff? The rental rate includes the services of a maid and a gourmet chef. The chef will prepare any of your meals - 3 a day if you like. You will need to purchase food and drinks at the market, or the chef will be glad to do your shopping for you. (You will need to pay for your groceries and liquor). We can arrange for babysitting and bartending service for an additional fee. What is the reservation procedure? A 50% deposit is required at the time you make your reservation and the balance is due two weeks prior to arrival. We will send you a reservation form to complete and return along instructions to wire transfer funds or overnight your check. You may also pay by major credit card with a 6% surcharge.
You will be asked to provide a credit card number on the reservation form. If we have not received your deposit within 24 hours of receiving your reservation form, your credit card will be charged a 25% cancellation fee. Otherwise your credit card number will not be used unless you incur long distance charges damage our property during your stay. What is the minimum stay? Four nights. Are children allowed? Children are welcomed, and a babysitter is available (for an additional charge). We also have a crib and rollaway bed if needed. Is there security at the villa? The villas are within a private, secure, gated community. Only guests of the villas are allowed in and out. How far away is the beach? A small private beach is located on the property. There are three beautiful beaches across the bay. You may take a regular taxi or a water taxi for approximately $3 - $4. Can we order snacks and drinks to be prepared for our arrival? Yes. Upon request our staff will have drinks and snacks prepared for your arrival and the charge will be added to your account. Can we place a grocery order? Our staff will take you to the market to shop for groceries as needed. You will need to pay for your groceries and liquor. Do the villas have Internet service? The villas have high speed wireless Internet service. Do the villas have cable TV? The villas have cable TV in all bedrooms. You can watch CNN and other US stations. Will my cell phone work in Zihuatanejo? Cell phone service on many carriers is inconsistent or unreliable. If your phone doesn't work we have a cell phone available for your use with a prepaid calling card. This is less expensive than roaming charges. Can we use credit cards in Zihuatanejo? What type of currency is generally used? What about traveler's checks? Credit cards are only accepted in the larger stores and restaurants. Some places accept US dollars. All stores will accept Mexican pesos. Some places accept traveler's checks and some don't. ATM's are available in town. |
